How to Change the Time Zone in iPhone’s Calendar App
Step #1. Go to Settings. Step #2. Tap on Mail, Contacts & Calendar. Step #3. Now tap on Time Zone Support. Step #4. Switch ON Time Zone Support and select the time zone (by typing your city’s name in the “Time Zone label.) What happens when you do this is that events’ times will be changed according to the time zone you are in (according to the time zone selected in the final step above). If you created an event (or added an event someone shared) based on a particular time zone (say, Pacific), the time will be changed according to the time zone you are in. This will help you be alerted on-time, contextually. For instance, if there’s a 10.00am event in PST (like WWDC or Apple’s iPhone Event) and you live in Eastern time, the event will have a time of 1.00pm for you. Obviously, you can change this setting to whatever time zone you want to be alerted for through the Time Zone city selection.
What if I want to get the event time only for the time zone of the event’s location? Or what if I don’t want Calendar to change the time zones?
Just turn off the Time Zone Support switch and all events created or shared will have the same time as they were created with. No changes will be applied based on the relative time zone you are in.
